We are excited to announce that spanish-born artist Gemma Solà Sotos will join the gallery program.
Gemma Solà Soto’s approach to painting is fluid and intuitive, layering acrylic, charcoal, and graphite to create compositions that oscillate between abstraction and figuration. Her use of the airbrush technique produces the blurred, fading lines that imbue her works with a dreamlike quality. Reality and fiction blur as pictorial elements shift in meaning, evoking fading memories and a pervasive sense of nostalgia. Soft, serene colors contrast with static, frozen scenes—this interplay of energy and inertia mirrors the generational search for stability in the face of uncertainty.
Born 1993 in Barcelona, Spain, she studied at the University of Barcelona between 2014 and 2018, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with special distinction. In 2018, she moved to Munich, Germany, to continue her education at the Academy of Fine Arts in the class of Gregor Hildebrandt, where she graduated in February 2024. She currently lives and works in Vienna.
